What's New
Every change to AECPulse that you’d notice while using the app is listed here, newest first. Purely behind-the-scenes work is left out.
October 10, 2026
Section titled “October 10, 2026”Consistent Colors and a Better Dark Mode
Section titled “Consistent Colors and a Better Dark Mode”A few places used a blue accent instead of the app’s main color: the icons on the dashboard tiles, the file directory, and the Terms and Privacy links on the sign-up form. They now use the same accent color as the rest of AECPulse. In dark mode, the client and task edit pages, the role editor, and the Settings pages no longer show bright white panels, and hint text, warning text and “paid” amounts now follow the same colors everywhere in both light and dark mode.
Subscribe to Your AECPulse Calendar
Section titled “Subscribe to Your AECPulse Calendar”You can now see your AECPulse calendar in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. Click Subscribe at the top of the Calendar page to get your private calendar link, then copy it or add it to your calendar app in one click. Your logged time, project meetings and milestones then show up next to your other appointments and keep themselves up to date. Keep the link private, since anyone who has it can see your calendar.
Collapse or Expand Every Project on the Tasks Page
Section titled “Collapse or Expand Every Project on the Tasks Page”The Tasks page now has Collapse All and Expand All buttons above the project panels. Fold every project away to get a quick overview of which projects have tasks, or open them all back up in one click. You can still open or close individual projects as before.
”View Tasks” Always Shows Just That Project
Section titled “”View Tasks” Always Shows Just That Project”Clicking View Tasks on a project’s page sometimes opened the Tasks page with the project selected in the filter but listed tasks from every project. The Tasks page and Kanban board now always show only the selected project’s tasks. Changing filters quickly also always shows the results for your latest choice.
Readable Hints on List Buttons
Section titled “Readable Hints on List Buttons”Hovering the arrow at the end of a row in any list (to open a client, project, invoice and so on), or the Unapply button on applied credits, used to show a hint squeezed against the edge of the screen, one letter per line. The hint now opens to the left of the button so it’s fully readable.
Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions
Section titled “Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions”Our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions now have their own pages on the AECPulse website. You can reach them from the sign-in page, from the website footer, and from the Legal section of this wiki. When you create a new firm account, the sign-up form links to both and notes that creating the account means you agree to them.
Edit Your Logged Time
Section titled “Edit Your Logged Time”You can now fix a time entry instead of deleting it and logging it again. On a task’s Activity tab, click the pencil icon next to any entry you logged to change its task, date, times, or description. Clicking your logged time on the Calendar now opens the entry right there instead of jumping to the task, so you can see and edit it in place. The same rules as deleting apply: you can only edit your own time, and billed time can’t be changed until it’s taken off the invoice. Entries you can’t change — someone else’s time, or billed time — now have an eye icon that opens a summary showing the task, who logged it, when, how long, the invoice it’s on, and the description.
October 8, 2026
Section titled “October 8, 2026”Drag on the Calendar to Log Time or Add a Meeting
Section titled “Drag on the Calendar to Log Time or Add a Meeting”In the Week and Day views you can now press on a time and drag down to pick a start and end time. When you let go, choose Log Time or New Project Meeting, and the form opens with that time range already filled in. A single click picks a one-hour block starting at the time you clicked. The Week and Day views now show 15-minute rows from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, so you see more of your working day at once. Items outside those hours still appear in the Month view.
October 6, 2026
Section titled “October 6, 2026”Tasks Grouped by Project When Logging Time
Section titled “Tasks Grouped by Project When Logging Time”When you log time, the task list now groups your tasks under the project each one belongs to, so two tasks with the same name on different projects are easy to tell apart. You can search by either the task name or the project name. Tasks that aren’t part of any project are listed under Standalone Tasks at the bottom, and completed or cancelled tasks no longer appear in the list.
Search and “My Projects” on the Project and Proposal Lists
Section titled “Search and “My Projects” on the Project and Proposal Lists”The Projects and Proposals lists now have a search box that finds a project or proposal by its name, number, or street address as you type. A new My Projects (or My Proposals) button narrows the list to just the ones you are on the team for, and the bottom of the list shows how many match. The status buttons and search now sit together in a bar at the top of the list, and when nothing matches, the list now explains the usual reasons, such as the selected status, your search, or My Projects being turned on.
Search on Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and Vendors
Section titled “Search on Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and Vendors”The Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and Vendors lists now have a search box next to the status buttons. Type part of a name, email, phone number, or city to find who you’re looking for. When nothing matches, the list now explains the usual reasons why.
Search, Overdue, and Payee Type on Bills and Invoices
Section titled “Search, Overdue, and Payee Type on Bills and Invoices”The Bills and Invoices lists have a new filter bar. Search by number, project, or the payee or client name, and turn on Overdue to see only what is past due and still unpaid. On Bills, you can also show only bills from consultants, vendors, or contractors. When nothing matches, each list now explains the usual reasons why.
Search on Team Members
Section titled “Search on Team Members”The Team Members list now has the same filter bar as the other lists, with a search box next to the Active and Terminated buttons. Search by name, email, phone number, or job title. Full names like “Jane Smith” work too.
Search Boxes Look and Work the Same Everywhere
Section titled “Search Boxes Look and Work the Same Everywhere”The search boxes on the Reports and Walkthroughs pages now match the ones on every other list. Every search box now waits until you’ve typed at least two letters before searching, so a single letter no longer reloads the list.
Search, Price Range, and Sorting for FF&E
Section titled “Search, Price Range, and Sorting for FF&E”FF&E item lists now have a filter bar. Search by name, model number, manufacturer, finish, or vendor, set a minimum and maximum sell price, and sort the cards by name, cost, sell price, lead time, or date added.
Filters and Sorting for Details
Section titled “Filters and Sorting for Details”Detail lists now have status buttons (Draft, Current, Superseded, Archived), a search box, an interior/exterior choice, and a sort option for name, date added, or last updated.
Search for Specifications
Section titled “Search for Specifications”Each specification group now has a search box that finds specifications by number, name, sub-name, or vendor.
October 3, 2026
Section titled “October 3, 2026”Clearer Task Status Buttons
Section titled “Clearer Task Status Buttons”A task’s status now shows at the top of its details card. At the top of the page, next to Edit Task, a button offers the obvious next step, such as Start Task for a to-do task or Complete Task for one in progress. To choose any other status, use the Change Status button beside it. Completed and cancelled tasks can no longer be edited. Use Reopen Task or Restore Task to bring one back first.
Consistent Icons on Details Pages
Section titled “Consistent Icons on Details Pages”The small icons beside each field on details pages now match what the field holds, and the same kind of field uses the same icon everywhere. For example, every status shows a flag, amounts show money icons instead of calendars, and descriptions all share one icon.
Refreshed Icons and Breadcrumbs
Section titled “Refreshed Icons and Breadcrumbs”Icons across AECPulse have been updated to a newer, slightly refreshed set, and they now line up more evenly with the text beside them. Every step in the breadcrumb trail at the top of each page now has an icon too, and each area uses the same icon in the breadcrumbs as in the side menu. Action buttons at the top of details pages have clearer icons as well: every edit button now shows a pencil, approving shows a stamp, a proposal’s accept and decline show thumbs up and down, and completing a project or task shows a checkered flag.
Saving a Project or Proposal Opens Its Details
Section titled “Saving a Project or Proposal Opens Its Details”After you create or save a project or proposal, you’re now taken to its details page instead of staying on the edit screen, just like when saving a team member or client.
Easier Sign-Up Addresses and Reserved Company URLs
Section titled “Easier Sign-Up Addresses and Reserved Company URLs”New firms can now start signing up from register.aecpulse.com or signup.aecpulse.com as well as the welcome page; both take you straight to the sign-up form. When choosing your firm’s web address, a small set of names is now reserved and can’t be used, including names AECPulse uses itself (like “welcome”, “www”, or “api”) and offensive words. If you pick one, you’ll see a message asking you to choose a different address.
Attach DXF Drawings
Section titled “Attach DXF Drawings”You can now upload DXF drawings from your CAD software to the Files tab of projects, tasks, team members, FF&E items, and details, alongside your images and PDFs. DXF files show with a drafting icon, and clicking one downloads it so you can open it in your CAD program. The 25 MB size limit applies as usual.
September 30, 2026
Section titled “September 30, 2026”Search Dropdowns by Group Name
Section titled “Search Dropdowns by Group Name”In dropdowns that group their choices under headings, the search box now matches the headings as well as the choices. When picking a phase for a task, type a project’s name to see all of its phases. When choosing an FF&E category for a project room, type a category like “Seating” to see every subcategory under it. Searching by the choice’s own name works just as before.
September 29, 2026
Section titled “September 29, 2026”Sub Tasks Show Up Everywhere
Section titled “Sub Tasks Show Up Everywhere”Sub tasks now appear alongside every other task on your dashboard, in the task list, and on the task board, each with a small “Sub task of …” note naming its parent. Hours logged on a sub task count toward its parent’s time spent, and the parent’s Activity tab now lists those entries too, each noting which sub task it was logged on. A sub task’s page shows its parent in the breadcrumb trail, so you can jump straight back up. Sub task hours come out of the parent’s allotted time rather than adding to it, and you’ll see a warning if the sub tasks together are given more hours than the parent has. A parent task’s page also shows Allotted to Sub Tasks and Logged on Sub Tasks, so you can see at a glance how many hours its sub tasks are given and how many of its logged hours came from them. The Sub Tasks tab now lists every sub task of the task you’re viewing, including ones that aren’t assigned to you.
Bill Logged Time on an Invoice
Section titled “Bill Logged Time on an Invoice”Hours your team logs on a project’s tasks can now go straight onto a client invoice. While editing a draft, click Add Unbilled Time to see every hour on that project that hasn’t been billed yet, narrow it by phase or dates, tick what you want, and it comes in as one line per phase and role — the hours as the quantity and each person’s professional rate on the project as the price. You can still change any line before saving. Each hour can only be billed once, so it won’t turn up on the next invoice; remove the line or void the invoice and the time is free to bill again. On a task’s Activity tab, billed time now shows which invoice it’s on, and it can’t be deleted while it’s billed.
September 22, 2026
Section titled “September 22, 2026”Your Own Profile Page
Section titled “Your Own Profile Page”There’s a new My Profile page, reached from the person icon in the top bar, and everyone has one whatever their access. Its Profile tab shows the record your firm keeps for you — your title, manager, contact details, start date, and your home address — along with the hours you’ve logged this week against your weekly target. A Timesheet tab gives you the same week-at-a-time view of your own hours that your manager sees, a Compensation tab shows the pay information recorded for you, and a My Access tab lists the roles you’ve been given and exactly what they let you do, so it’s easy to see what you’re missing when something is out of reach. Everything on the page is read-only; ask whoever manages team members at your firm to change anything that’s out of date.
Every Permission Now Explains Itself
Section titled “Every Permission Now Explains Itself”When you build or edit a role, each permission in the list now has a short line underneath saying plainly what it lets someone do — “See and change what someone is paid, including their hourly rate”, for example — so you can set access up confidently without guessing from a name like “Financials”. The same explanations appear on the My Access tab of your own profile, so anyone can see what their access actually covers.
Home Addresses for Team Members
Section titled “Home Addresses for Team Members”A team member’s record now holds their home address. Editing someone now asks for their street, city, state and zip, and all four are required — so you don’t end up with half an address on file. The address shows on their detail page and on their own My Profile page. Adding people through the quick Add Team Members pop-up still only asks for the basics; open the person afterwards to fill in their address.
September 20, 2026
Section titled “September 20, 2026”See a Project’s Schedule as a Timeline
Section titled “See a Project’s Schedule as a Timeline”The Phases & Milestones tab on a project or proposal now has List and Timeline buttons. List is the detailed view you already know. Timeline draws the same phases as a Gantt chart: a bar for each phase, coloured by its status, with its milestones on their own lines underneath, and anything with a single date rather than a span marked as a diamond. A phase that has started but not finished runs its bar up to today, and where the real dates differ from what was planned, the planned dates sit behind the bar as an outline — so a phase that started late or is running long is obvious at a glance. A Today line runs down the chart, and hovering any bar or diamond tells you its status, its planned and actual dates, and how many days it covers.
Filter Lists by Status
Section titled “Filter Lists by Status”Bills, invoices, clients, consultants, vendors, contractors and team members now have a row of status buttons across the top of the list, the same as projects and proposals. Click one to narrow the list — pending bills, draft invoices, prospective clients, preferred vendors — and click All to go back to everything. Bills, invoices, clients and the consultant, vendor and contractor lists open on All, so nothing is hidden from you until you pick a status. Team Members is the exception: it opens on Active so people who have left the firm stay out of your way, and there’s a Terminated button to find them when you need to. Whichever you pick stays put as you page through and sort, and it becomes part of the web address, so you can bookmark a view or send someone a link that opens exactly what you were looking at.
Clicking the Status You’re Already On
Section titled “Clicking the Status You’re Already On”On the Projects and Proposals lists, clicking the status button you were already viewing used to clear the whole filter and show an error instead of a list. The button now stays put and simply refreshes what you’re looking at, the same as every other list in AECPulse.
Projects You’re Not On Stay Private
Section titled “Projects You’re Not On Stay Private”If your access is limited to the projects you’re a team member of, those are now the only ones you can open. Previously a project you weren’t on was kept out of your project list but could still be opened with a direct link; now that link reports the project as not found, and so do its phases, team, rooms and meetings. Nothing changes for anyone who can already view all projects.
September 19, 2026
Section titled “September 19, 2026”Pop-up Forms Are More Reliable
Section titled “Pop-up Forms Are More Reliable”Pop-up forms now behave consistently everywhere in AECPulse. If you start typing the moment a pop-up appears, what you type is kept instead of being cleared as the form finishes opening. The forms that add several records at once — clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, team members, projects, proposals and tasks — now start empty every time you open them, so rows you abandoned earlier no longer come back. Cancelling an edit now always leaves the original untouched: on a team member’s Compensation tab, changing a figure and then cancelling no longer leaves the changed figure showing in the table until you reload the page.
Vendor Credits
Section titled “Vendor Credits”You can now record credit that a consultant, vendor or contractor gives you, such as for an overcharge, returned materials or a rebate. Open the payee and go to the new Credits tab to record it with their credit number, attach the credit memo they sent, and approve it. You can then apply it to any of that payee’s approved bills, taking the amount off what you owe, or record the refund if they pay it back. A bill now shows how much has been Credited next to what’s been paid, its balance is what’s left after both, and it tells you when the payee has unused credit you could apply first. Unused vendor credit also comes off Outstanding Payables on Firm Health and off bill cost on a project’s Profitability tab.
Help Icons on Every Form Field
Section titled “Help Icons on Every Form Field”Every field on every create and edit form, including pop-up forms, now has an info icon next to its name. Hover it to see what the field is for. This covers invoices, bills, credit memos, payments, refunds, details, FF&E items, project rooms, team, scope of work, fees and terms, team member pay, roles, contacts, files, and the sign-in pages. The options you fill in before running a report have one too, explaining what each date or number controls, such as which dates count toward the report.
Firm Health Tiles Explain Themselves
Section titled “Firm Health Tiles Explain Themselves”Every tile on Firm Health now has an info icon. Hover it to see exactly what the figure counts and the simple formula behind it, such as receivables less unused credits. The tiles are also laid out three to a row, so the page reads as two tidy lines.
More Accurate Firm Health Figures
Section titled “More Accurate Firm Health Figures”The “months of work” estimate under Backlog now uses your average billing over the last 12 full months, so it no longer reads high early in a month. The Billable Ratio report now covers the same last 90 days as its tile, so the two match. The tile also leaves out projects that have been deleted. A project phase’s billed amount no longer counts lines that were removed from an invoice before it was sent.
Available Credit Note Counts Only Usable Credit
Section titled “Available Credit Note Counts Only Usable Credit”The note on an invoice saying a client has available credit now counts only credit that can actually go toward that invoice. A credit tied to a different project is left out, since it can only be applied to that project’s invoices.
September 18, 2026
Section titled “September 18, 2026”Credits Count in Firm Health and Every Financial Report
Section titled “Credits Count in Firm Health and Every Financial Report”Credit memos now flow through all of your financial figures. Outstanding Receivables on Firm Health takes off any credit a client hasn’t used yet, and the Accounts Receivable Aging report shows that unused credit as a negative line, so the report still adds up to the tile. Monthly Revenue and the revenue reports count every credit as money not earned, and refunds you pay back as money not collected. Backlog and Work-in-Progress treat a credit by its reason: a Billing Error puts the amount back to be billed, while a discount, fee adjustment or bad debt doesn’t. Backlog by Project and Work-in-Progress show that in a new Billing Corrections column, and Project Billing Summary gains a Credits column. A credit tied to a project can now only be applied to that project’s invoices, so every project’s figures add up.
Project Profitability Tab and Report Agree
Section titled “Project Profitability Tab and Report Agree”The Profitability tab on a project and the Project Profitability report used to work out margin differently. Both now count revenue as the invoices you’ve sent, less credits, and cost as approved bills, less vendor credits, plus logged time at each person’s pay rate. Draft invoices and pending bills no longer count on the tab, and the report no longer prices time at billing rates. Margin in both is revenue minus cost, so expect the report’s margins to change.
Invoice and Bill Totals Leave Out Drafts and Voids
Section titled “Invoice and Bill Totals Leave Out Drafts and Voids”The totals under a project’s or client’s Invoices tab, and a project’s or payee’s Bills tab, now count only invoices you’ve sent and bills you’ve approved. Drafts and voided documents are still listed, just not added up. A new Credited line shows how much credit has been applied, so Total minus Paid minus Credited is exactly what’s Outstanding.
Vendor Spend Keeps Same-Named Payees Apart
Section titled “Vendor Spend Keeps Same-Named Payees Apart”The Sub-consultant & Vendor Spend report used to merge two payees that happened to share a name into one line. Each payee now has its own line.
Credit Memos for Clients
Section titled “Credit Memos for Clients”You can now give a client credit without touching an invoice you’ve already sent. Open a client and go to the new Credits tab to create a credit memo: pick a reason (such as a billing error, a fee adjustment, a discount or a bad debt), add line items just like an invoice, and issue it. The credit can then be applied to any of that client’s sent invoices, taking the amount off what they owe, or refunded to the client. You can spread one credit across several invoices, undo an application or refund if you made a mistake, and download a credit memo as a PDF to send to your client. The Credits tab also shows how much credit the client still has available.
Invoices Show Credits and Unused Credit
Section titled “Invoices Show Credits and Unused Credit”An invoice now shows how much has been credited alongside what’s been paid, and its balance is what’s left after both. A Credits tab lists each credit memo applied to it, and the invoice PDF includes them in its totals. If the client has credit they haven’t used yet, the invoice tells you how much and links to it, so no one records a full payment while credit sits unused. When you record a payment, the amount now starts at the true balance after credits.
Links to Other Pages Look the Same Everywhere
Section titled “Links to Other Pages Look the Same Everywhere”A few places linked to another page by making a name clickable, while every list in AECPulse uses an arrow at the end of the row. Those places now use the same arrow, with a hint when you hover over it: the Projects tab on FF&E items and details, the FF&E and detail cards on a project, a task’s parent task, and an FF&E item’s product page. Opening a project from an FF&E item or a detail also now lands on the project’s first tab, like every other link to a project; the Rooms and Details tabs are one click away.
Invoice and Bill Status Moves Into the Details
Section titled “Invoice and Bill Status Moves Into the Details”An invoice’s or bill’s status used to sit in a small tag beside its number at the top of the page, unlike projects, clients and every other record, where status is one of the details. It now appears in the details card as Invoice Status or Bill Status, next to the number, so every page reads the same way.
Payments Tab Appears Once an Invoice Can Be Paid
Section titled “Payments Tab Appears Once an Invoice Can Be Paid”A draft invoice or pending bill used to show an empty Payments or Disbursements tab, even though nothing could be recorded on it yet. The tab now appears once the invoice is sent or the bill is approved, and the Record Payment and Record Disbursement buttons show only while there’s still something to pay.
Payments Can No Longer Exceed What’s Owed
Section titled “Payments Can No Longer Exceed What’s Owed”Recording a payment larger than an invoice’s outstanding balance is now turned away with a message saying how much is actually still owed, and payments can only be recorded against an invoice that has been sent. The same applies to disbursements on bills: they must be for an approved bill and can’t exceed what’s left to pay. This stops invoices and bills from ending up overpaid by accident.
September 17, 2026
Section titled “September 17, 2026”Your Firm’s Name Now Appears in the Top Bar
Section titled “Your Firm’s Name Now Appears in the Top Bar”The top bar shows your firm’s name on a small tag beside the AECPulse logo, so it’s always clear which firm you’re working in — useful if you belong to more than one and keep them open in different tabs. A very long name is shortened to fit; hover over the tag to read it in full. You’ll see it the next time you sign in.
Your Firm Name No Longer Has to Be Unique
Section titled “Your Firm Name No Longer Has to Be Unique”When signing up, AECPulse used to turn you away if another firm had already registered under the same name, even though your web address was free. A firm name is just how your firm is written on invoices, contracts and emails, so it now works like any other piece of text — punctuation and all — and two firms sharing a name is no longer a problem. The web address you pick (the yourfirm in yourfirm.aecpulse.com) still has to be one of a kind, since that’s what identifies your firm. This also fixes a case where signing up with a name that differed only in capitalisation from an existing one got as far as the last step and then failed with an unexplained error.
September 5, 2026
Section titled “September 5, 2026”Task Columns Line Up Across Projects
Section titled “Task Columns Line Up Across Projects”On the Tasks page each project has its own table, and the columns in those tables used to be sized to whatever they happened to contain, so Due Date or Time Spent sat in a different place in one project than in the next. Every project’s table now uses the same column widths, so you can read straight down the page and compare the same figures without your eye having to find the column again for each project.
Two Reports That Wouldn’t Open Now Work
Section titled “Two Reports That Wouldn’t Open Now Work”Work-in-Progress (Unbilled) and Employee Utilization appeared in the Reports list but stopped with an error message instead of showing results when you pressed Run. Both now run normally. No figures or columns have changed — the reports were always correct, they just couldn’t get started.
Search Boxes on Reports and Walkthroughs
Section titled “Search Boxes on Reports and Walkthroughs”Both the Reports page and the Walkthroughs page now have a search box across the top. Type into it and the list narrows as you go, keeping only what matches. It looks at both the name and the description, so a word you remember from a report’s summary line finds it even when the name doesn’t contain that word. Clear the box to get the full list back.
Four Overlapping Reports Retired
Section titled “Four Overlapping Reports Retired”Four reports have been removed from the Reports page: Retainage Held, Reimbursable Expense Recovery, Receivables Aging Summary and Payables Aging Summary. The two Summary reports only re-totalled figures that Accounts Receivable Aging and Accounts Payable Aging already show line by line, and those two full reports stay exactly as they were — they are also what the Firm Health page links to. The retainage and reimbursable figures remain on the invoices and bills they belong to. A report your firm wrote itself is untouched, even if it shares one of these names.
The Reports List Is Easier to Scan
Section titled “The Reports List Is Easier to Scan”The Reports page used to show each report as a card, two across, so a category with several reports took up a lot of room and you did more scrolling than reading. Reports are now a plain list under each category heading — name, description, and an Open button on the right — matching how Walkthroughs already reads. Nothing has moved between categories and no report has been renamed.
September 4, 2026
Section titled “September 4, 2026”Clearer Message When an FF&E Item Can’t Be Deleted
Section titled “Clearer Message When an FF&E Item Can’t Be Deleted”Trying to delete an FF&E item that is scheduled into a project told you to set the item to “Discontinued” — a setting that doesn’t exist. It now tells you what actually works: remove the item from those projects first, then delete it. The projects using it are still named in the message.
Walkthroughs — Guided Tours of the App
Section titled “Walkthroughs — Guided Tours of the App”A graduation-cap icon now sits in the top bar. It opens a new Walkthroughs page listing short guided tours: pick one and the app walks you through itself, dimming the page and highlighting one thing at a time while it explains what you’re looking at. Four are available to start with — Your first five minutes, Where is everything?, Reading your dashboard and Making the app comfortable — and each takes two or three minutes. A walkthrough never clicks or types for you: every click is yours. They run on your own data, steps covering areas your role cannot see are skipped quietly, and pressing Esc stops a tour at any point.
August 30, 2026
Section titled “August 30, 2026”Switch Monthly Revenue Between a Chart and a Table
Section titled “Switch Monthly Revenue Between a Chart and a Table”On the Firm Health page, the exact numbers behind the Monthly Revenue chart used to be tucked under a small line of text you had to notice and click. There are now Chart and Table buttons above it, so you can flip to the month-by-month figures — and back again — in one click.
Active Projects Reads More Clearly
Section titled “Active Projects Reads More Clearly”On the Firm Health page, Active Projects no longer splits across pages — every project under contract is in one list you can scroll. The fee and task progress bars have been redrawn to match the rest of the app, and a short note under the table now says what the red figures mean: a due date already past, hours logged past the budget, or no time logged in the last thirty days.
August 29, 2026
Section titled “August 29, 2026”Report Links Now Name the Report
Section titled “Report Links Now Name the Report”A report’s web address used to end in a number, so a link you bookmarked or sent to a colleague gave no clue what it opened. Addresses now spell the report out — accounts_receivable_aging rather than a number — and stay the same from one firm to the next. Bookmarks saved to the old numbered links will need to be opened from the Reports page once and saved again.
Friendlier “Page Not Found” and “Access Denied” Pages
Section titled “Friendlier “Page Not Found” and “Access Denied” Pages”Landing on a missing page or one you don’t have access to used to leave you staring at a bare line of text with nowhere to go. Both pages now match the look of the rest of the app, explain what happened in plain language, and offer a Back to Dashboard button so you can pick up where you left off.
Open the Help Guide From Any Page
Section titled “Open the Help Guide From Any Page”A new book icon sits in the top bar next to the light and dark mode switch. Clicking it opens the AECPulse help guide in a new tab, so you can look something up without losing the page you were working on.
August 26, 2026
Section titled “August 26, 2026”Files Now Follow the Access Rules of What They Are Attached To
Section titled “Files Now Follow the Access Rules of What They Are Attached To”A file attached to a record — a bill’s document, a team member’s paperwork, a project or task file, an FF&E or detail image — now opens only for people who are allowed to view that kind of record. Someone without access to your team members’ pages, for example, can no longer open a file stored on one. A file you have just uploaded but not yet saved stays private to you until the record is saved.
Photo Galleries Load in One Go
Section titled “Photo Galleries Load in One Go”A project or FF&E gallery used to fetch every photo separately after the page appeared, so a gallery with a few dozen pictures filled in slowly, tile by tile. The photos now arrive together with the gallery itself and appear at once.
Notes Now Match Your Access
Section titled “Notes Now Match Your Access”The Notes tab on clients, details, and FF&E items now opens as plain reading when your access to that area is view-only — the formatting tools and the Save button are hidden instead of offered and then refused. On a team member’s page, the Notes tab no longer appears at all unless you have been given access to their notes, matching how the Compensation and Roles tabs already behaved.
Pages Now Sketch Themselves While They Load
Section titled “Pages Now Sketch Themselves While They Load”While a page is still fetching its information, the grey placeholder it shows now follows the shape of what is coming — a heading, a details card, and a row of tabs on a details page; paired form fields on an edit page; a list of rows on a table tab. Previously every page showed the same three plain bars regardless of what it was about, so the layout appeared to jump around once the information arrived. The wait is the same length, but the page settles into place instead of rearranging itself.
August 25, 2026
Section titled “August 25, 2026”The Dashboard Project Count Is Now Clearly Your Own
Section titled “The Dashboard Project Count Is Now Clearly Your Own”The card on the home screen that used to read “Active projects” now reads “My active projects”. The number hasn’t changed — it has always counted only the projects you’re on the team for — but the old wording made it look like a firm-wide total, so it could disagree with the longer list you saw after clicking through. The label now says what the number actually is.
August 24, 2026
Section titled “August 24, 2026”FF&E Items and Details Now Show a Picture Before You Add One
Section titled “FF&E Items and Details Now Show a Picture Before You Add One”An FF&E item or detail with no image uploaded yet used to show an empty dash. It now shows a stand-in illustration instead, so item cards and detail pages look complete from the moment you create them — on the item and detail pages, in the browse lists, and in a project’s rooms and details. Upload an image on the edit form and it replaces the stand-in.
New Tasks Are Assigned to You by Default
Section titled “New Tasks Are Assigned to You by Default”The Create Task form now has an “Assign Task to Me” checkbox, ticked to start with, so a task you create is already yours and shows up in your task list right away instead of waiting to be assigned. Untick it if the task is meant for someone else, and add or swap assignees any time from the task’s page. Creating several tasks at once still leaves them unassigned.
Photo Galleries for Projects and FF&E Items
Section titled “Photo Galleries for Projects and FF&E Items”Projects and FF&E items now have a Gallery tab for photos, separate from the Files tab. Drop in several pictures at once and they are laid out three across, grouped under the month they were added, newest month first. There is nothing to categorize by hand. Click any photo to see it full size, then step through the rest with the arrow buttons or your keyboard’s left and right arrow keys.
File Pickers Now Tell You What They Accept
Section titled “File Pickers Now Tell You What They Accept”Every place you upload a file now spells out which formats it takes and the size limit — for example “JPG, PNG, WEBP or PDF · up to 25 MB” — so you know before you go looking for the file. Where only images are accepted, it says so.
August 23, 2026
Section titled “August 23, 2026”Fields That Need Fixing Are Now Highlighted
Section titled “Fields That Need Fixing Are Now Highlighted”When a form cannot be saved, every field that needs your attention is now outlined in red, so you can see at a glance what is missing instead of hunting for it. This applies everywhere you save — projects and proposals, clients, employees, vendors, consultants and contractors, tasks, time logs, invoices and bills, FF&E items, details, specifications, notes, meetings and rooms, as well as signing in and activating an account. A few of these screens previously let you save an incomplete form and only failed afterwards; they now tell you up front. On the firm signup screen, the Next and Create Account buttons are no longer greyed out while something is missing — press them and we point out the fields that still need filling in.
See Where an FF&E Item or Detail Is Used
Section titled “See Where an FF&E Item or Detail Is Used”FF&E items and details now have a Projects tab on their page, listing every project that uses them with its type, status, address and owner. An FF&E item counts as used when it is scheduled in any of a project’s rooms; a detail, when it is on the project’s detail list. Click a project name to jump straight to its rooms or its details. You only see projects you already have access to, and the tab is hidden if you cannot view projects at all.
Projects Now Have a Details Tab
Section titled “Projects Now Have a Details Tab”A project now carries its own list of details. Open a project, go to the new Details tab, and add details straight from your details library — pick a category, browse the cards, and give the detail the number it carries on this project’s drawings. Each one shows as a card with its picture, number and notes, and its name links back to the library entry.
Detail Numbers Stay Unique Within a Project
Section titled “Detail Numbers Stay Unique Within a Project”Two details in the same project can no longer share a number, and the same detail cannot be added to a project twice. If you try, we tell you which number or detail is already in use instead of quietly creating a duplicate.
Details in Use Are Protected From Deletion
Section titled “Details in Use Are Protected From Deletion”A detail that is used on a project can no longer be deleted from the library. We name the projects using it and suggest setting it to Archived instead, so nobody loses a detail another project depends on.
A Room’s FF&E Schedule Now Reads as Cards
Section titled “A Room’s FF&E Schedule Now Reads as Cards”What is scheduled in a room shows as a grid of cards — picture, name, quantity and notes — instead of a plain table, so you can see the room’s furniture and fixtures at a glance.
Pick Room Items From the Catalog, Not a Dropdown
Section titled “Pick Room Items From the Catalog, Not a Dropdown”Adding an item to a project room now starts with a category picker — categories are listed as headings with their subcategories underneath — and the items in the subcategory you choose show up as cards with their picture, name, cost and sell price. A search box narrows the cards down by name, so you can see what you are specifying instead of guessing from a name in a list. Editing a scheduled item opens the same picker with its current item selected, so you can now swap in a different item instead of removing the line and starting over.
Thumbnails No Longer Crop Your Images
Section titled “Thumbnails No Longer Crop Your Images”File thumbnails on FF&E items, details, bills, and upload boxes now sit in a consistent widescreen frame and show the whole picture instead of cropping the edges off, so a tall or unusually shaped image is still recognizable at a glance.
Files Open Right Where You Are
Section titled “Files Open Right Where You Are”Clicking a file in a Files list now opens it in a preview window over the page, the same way clicking a thumbnail does, instead of sending you off to a new browser tab. Close it and you are back where you left off.
Detail Cards Say More at a Glance
Section titled “Detail Cards Say More at a Glance”A detail’s card in the category list now shows its architectural style and whether it is interior or exterior, under the name — the two things you are usually scanning for when picking between similar drawings.
Simpler FF&E and Detail Records
Section titled “Simpler FF&E and Detail Records”A few fields that were not earning their keep have been retired. FF&E items no longer carry a status, and details no longer carry a detail number or a vendor — a detail reaches product data through its linked specification instead.
Detail Fields You Pick From a List
Section titled “Detail Fields You Pick From a List”Drawing type, interior/exterior, framing type and fire rating are now chosen from a fixed list rather than typed, so everyone’s answers line up. Architectural style and sealant type still take anything you type, with the usual answers offered as suggestions.
Schedule FF&E Into Your Rooms
Section titled “Schedule FF&E Into Your Rooms”A project’s Rooms tab now holds an FF&E schedule. Open a room and add items straight from your FF&E catalog, with a quantity — a whole number of pieces — and any notes for that room.
Rooms Open and Close
Section titled “Rooms Open and Close”Rooms are no longer a flat table. Each one is a panel you expand, showing its number, level, description and everything scheduled into it — with the item count on the header line so a long room list still reads at a glance.
Items in Use Cannot Be Deleted
Section titled “Items in Use Cannot Be Deleted”Deleting an FF&E item that is scheduled in a project is now refused, and the message names the projects using it. Remove it from those rooms first if it really has to go.
August 22, 2026
Section titled “August 22, 2026”A New Firm Health Page
Section titled “A New Firm Health Page”There’s a new Firm Health page under Firm, showing where the firm stands at a glance. Cash position covers what clients still owe you, what you owe out, and the two netted against each other. Work and capacity covers the contracted fee you haven’t billed yet (and roughly how many months of work that is), the value of proposals still awaiting an outcome, and the share of logged time that was billable — over a chart of the last twelve months of billing and collections side by side. Every tile with an arrow opens a report with the detail behind it, so you can always see how a figure was arrived at rather than taking it on trust. Underneath, Monthly Revenue and Active Projects are sections you open when you want them, so the page opens quickly however much history your firm has. Active Projects lists every project under contract — how far along it is, tasks done against tasks open, hours against budget, billed against fee, and when someone last worked on it — and each row opens to show that project’s phases. The page is available to team members whose role grants Firm Health, which also grants reports, project financials, invoices and bills — so every figure on the page has a detail view they can actually open.
A Home for Your Construction Details
Section titled “A Home for Your Construction Details”Details is a new library beside FF&E, organised into fourteen categories that follow the order a building goes up — foundations through specialty systems. Each detail carries its drawing, its number, the assembly information every detail shares, and a set of extra fields chosen by its category, so a window head detail asks about glazing and a stair detail asks about riser height.
Lists That Learn Your Vocabulary
Section titled “Lists That Learn Your Vocabulary”Fields like Framing Type and Fire Rating suggest the usual answers but never limit you to them. Type something your office uses that is not on the list — it is saved as written, and from then on it is offered to everyone else on your team.
An Item’s Photo Stays Out of Its Files
Section titled “An Item’s Photo Stays Out of Its Files”An FF&E item’s main photo no longer turns up in the Files tab alongside its tear sheets and drawings. The tab now lists only what you uploaded to it, and the photo is changed where you’d expect — on the item’s edit form.
Replacing an Attached File Clears the Old One
Section titled “Replacing an Attached File Clears the Old One”Swapping the photo on an FF&E item, or the document on a bill, used to leave the previous file behind — taking up space you could not see or reach. The old one is now removed as soon as the replacement is saved, and the same happens when you clear a photo or document without replacing it.
August 21, 2026
Section titled “August 21, 2026”Prices and Status at a Glance
Section titled “Prices and Status at a Glance”FF&E cards now show cost and sell price side by side with the item’s status underneath, so you can scan a category for what a piece costs without opening it. An item’s page leads with its name, and cost, sell price and status now sit beside the photo.
Notes and Files on Every FF&E Item
Section titled “Notes and Files on Every FF&E Item”An FF&E item’s page now ends in three tabs. Extra Details holds the fields its category brings with it, Notes gives you a full editor for anything that does not fit a field, and Files lets you attach tear sheets, spec sheets, shop drawings and extra photos, rename them, and group them however you like. Notes have moved out of the item form — they save on their own from the tab, so you no longer have to open the whole item to jot something down.
Browse a Whole Group of FF&E Categories
Section titled “Browse a Whole Group of FF&E Categories”Category names in the FF&E tree are now clickable, and so are the broader groups above them. Click Tables to see every table you own across all its categories, or Dining Table for just that one. The trail at the top of a list — Tables › Dining Table — walks back up the same way, so you can widen from one category to the whole group in a click.
Images and Documents Open in a Preview Window
Section titled “Images and Documents Open in a Preview Window”Clicking an image or an attached document — an FF&E item’s photo, a bill’s paperwork — now opens it in a preview window over the page instead of sending you off to a new browser tab, so you keep your place. Documents are readable right there, and the window expands to fill the screen when you need a closer look. Images also now fill the space they are given rather than being cropped to a small square, and a placeholder shows while one is still loading instead of an empty gap.
Saving a Bill With a Document Attached
Section titled “Saving a Bill With a Document Attached”Attaching a document to a bill and saving it failed with an error. The document now saves with the bill as expected.
August 18, 2026
Section titled “August 18, 2026”FF&E Is Here
Section titled “FF&E Is Here”A new FF&E area in the Resources group of the sidebar, for the furniture, fixtures and equipment you specify. Every item records the things they all share — name, model number, image, vendor, manufacturer, lead time, cost, sell price, dimensions, weight, finish, primary material and status. Choose a category and the item picks up the extra fields that category actually needs: a Chandelier asks for overall drop, socket count and lumens; a Sofa asks for cover material, cushion fill and double rubs. Those fields come built in, with a short explanation on each one, so there is nothing to set up first. FF&E opens on the category tree: expand a group or search it by name, then open a category to see its items as image cards, or start a new item already filed under it.
Changing an Item’s Category Keeps What Still Fits
Section titled “Changing an Item’s Category Keeps What Still Fits”If you move an item from one category to another — a Sofa to a Sectional, say — every value the new category also asks for comes with it. Anything the new category has no place for is listed by name and you are asked to confirm before it goes.
August 17, 2026
Section titled “August 17, 2026”Break a Project Down Into Rooms
Section titled “Break a Project Down Into Rooms”Projects now have a Rooms tab, where you can list the rooms and spaces a project contains — a lobby, a guest suite, a unit type — each with an optional room number, level, and description. Rooms are listed alphabetically. This is the groundwork for specifying furniture and finishes room by room.
Libraries Have Been Retired
Section titled “Libraries Have Been Retired”The Libraries area, where you built your own reference tables for Details and FF&E, has been removed. It is being replaced by dedicated FF&E and Details features that come with the industry’s categories and fields already built in, so you no longer have to design a table before you can record an item. Specifications have moved under a new Resources group in the sidebar and are otherwise unchanged.
August 13, 2026
Section titled “August 13, 2026”A Limit on How Many Login Codes Can Be Requested
Section titled “A Limit on How Many Login Codes Can Be Requested”Requesting a large number of login codes for the same account in a short time now stops after 15, with a message asking you to check your email or wait a few minutes. This keeps anyone from flooding your inbox with sign-in emails, and it protects the code you’ve already been sent — earlier codes stay valid instead of being replaced.
Login Codes Now Expire After 30 Minutes
Section titled “Login Codes Now Expire After 30 Minutes”The code emailed to you when you sign in used to stay usable for a full day. It now expires 30 minutes after you request it, which keeps an old email from being useful to anyone later. If your code has expired, just request a new one from the sign-in page.
July 26, 2026
Section titled “July 26, 2026”Jump Straight to a Project’s or Phase’s Tasks
Section titled “Jump Straight to a Project’s or Phase’s Tasks”The Tasks tab on a project page has been replaced by something more useful. A “View Tasks” button at the top of every project opens the full Tasks page already filtered to that project, where you get sorting, filtering, and everything else the Tasks page offers. Each phase now also shows a “Phase Tasks” line with a count of how many tasks it has and its own “View Tasks” button, so you can go straight to just that phase’s work. Phases now start collapsed so longer projects are easier to scan.
Record Bills That Aren’t Tied to a Project
Section titled “Record Bills That Aren’t Tied to a Project”A bill no longer has to belong to a project. Office rent, software subscriptions, insurance — anything that’s a cost to the firm rather than to a job — can now be entered with the project left blank. Just clear the Project field when creating or editing a bill. These bills stay out of project budgets and profitability, and still show up everywhere else you’d expect: your bill list, payee pages, and the accounts payable and retainage reports.
See a Project’s Bills Alongside Its Invoices
Section titled “See a Project’s Bills Alongside Its Invoices”Project pages now have a Bills tab next to Invoices, showing every bill charged to that project with its totals paid and outstanding — so you can see money going out and money coming in without leaving the project.
Clearer Messages When Something Goes Wrong
Section titled “Clearer Messages When Something Goes Wrong”Error messages across the app now tell you what actually happened instead of a generic “an error occurred.” If a form has a problem, the message names the specific fields and what’s wrong with each one. If your session has expired, it says so and asks you to sign in again. Failed file uploads and PDF downloads now explain the reason — a file that’s too large or an unsupported type will say exactly that, rather than failing silently.
Extra Spaces Are Tidied Up Automatically
Section titled “Extra Spaces Are Tidied Up Automatically”Stray spaces at the start or end of anything you type are now removed as you save, so ” ACME Design ” and “ACME Design” are treated as the same thing. This means duplicate names get caught even when they differ only by extra spacing, and searching and sorting no longer put an accidentally space-prefixed entry in an odd place.
July 18, 2026
Section titled “July 18, 2026”Log Time Without a Task, and Create a Task on the Fly
Section titled “Log Time Without a Task, and Create a Task on the Fly”You can now log time as a standalone entry that isn’t tied to any task — just leave the task field blank in the Log Time window. When you do want a task but haven’t created it yet, a “Create New Task” button right there lets you add one without leaving the window. Logging time directly against a whole project has been removed. Standalone time still shows on your weekly timesheet, grouped under a “General / Non-project” row.
July 10, 2026
Section titled “July 10, 2026”Browse Reports at a Glance
Section titled “Browse Reports at a Glance”Finding a report is much easier now. Instead of hunting through a single dropdown, the Reports page shows every report as a card, grouped by category, with its name and a short description of what it does right there in front of you. Pick the one you want and click “Open Report” to set any inputs it needs and run it just like before.
July 8, 2026
Section titled “July 8, 2026”Log Time to a Project, Not Just a Task
Section titled “Log Time to a Project, Not Just a Task”You can now log your time directly against a whole project you’re a member of, in addition to logging against a task assigned to you. When you log time, a single picker groups everything by project: pick “Whole project” to record time that isn’t tied to a specific task, or pick one of your assigned tasks as before. Your project time shows on your calendar and in project timesheets alongside your task time.
Tasks Can Live Under a Project or Stand Alone
Section titled “Tasks Can Live Under a Project or Stand Alone”A task no longer has to belong to a phase. When creating or editing a task, you can attach it to a phase as before, to a whole project with no phase, or leave it unattached as a standalone task. The project/phase picker now offers a “Whole project (no phase)” option for each project, and leaving it blank creates a standalone task.
July 6, 2026
Section titled “July 6, 2026”Choose What Shows on Your Calendar
Section titled “Choose What Shows on Your Calendar”The calendar can get crowded when your task time, project meetings, and milestones all show at once. Each item in the color key beside the calendar now has a checkbox, so you can hide or show task activity, project meetings, and milestones independently to focus on just what you care about. Your choice is remembered, so the calendar opens the same way next time you visit.
June 29, 2026
Section titled “June 29, 2026”Browser Tabs Now Show the Page You’re On
Section titled “Browser Tabs Now Show the Page You’re On”Every page now updates the browser tab with its name, so you can tell your open tabs apart at a glance and your history and bookmarks are easier to find. List pages read like “Clients” or “Tasks,” and when you open a specific record the tab shows its name first — for example “ABC Corp.” followed by the section it’s in.
June 27, 2026
Section titled “June 27, 2026”Attach the Bill Document You Received
Section titled “Attach the Bill Document You Received”When you add or edit a bill, you can now attach the document you received from the consultant, vendor, or contractor — a PDF or a scanned or photographed image of their invoice. The attachment shows on the bill’s details page with a thumbnail and a link to open or download the original, so the source document always stays with the bill. It’s optional, so you can still record a bill before its paperwork arrives and add the document later.
June 26, 2026
Section titled “June 26, 2026”Download a PDF of Any Invoice
Section titled “Download a PDF of Any Invoice”Every invoice now has a Download PDF button on its details page that produces a clean, professional invoice you can send straight to your client. It shows your firm’s name and address, who it’s billed to, the invoice number and dates, an itemized list of charges with quantities, rates, and tax, and a totals summary down to the balance due — including any retainage held back and payments already received. You can download it at any stage, whether the invoice is still a draft or already sent.
Contracts Now Reflect Your Firm and Its Role
Section titled “Contracts Now Reflect Your Firm and Its Role”When you download a project or proposal contract, it now shows your firm’s own company name throughout the agreement and signature block instead of a generic placeholder. You can also set your firm’s professional role — Architect, Engineer, Contractor, and so on — under Firm Settings, and the contract uses it everywhere your firm is named (defaulting to “Service Provider” until you set one). The compensation section reads better too: its heading now matches the fee type you chose (for example “Hourly Rates” or “Cost Per Square Foot”), money amounts are formatted consistently, and any extra fee notes you enter now appear under their own clearly labeled heading. Multi-line descriptions you type also lay out cleanly instead of stretching across the page. The contract’s list of documents no longer names per-phase exhibits that weren’t actually separate attachments — the scope still appears in full within the agreement.
June 25, 2026
Section titled “June 25, 2026”A Dozen New Financial Reports
Section titled “A Dozen New Financial Reports”The Reports area now turns your invoice and bill data into a full money picture. New reports include a Project Billing Summary (fee billed vs. collected and what’s outstanding), Work-in-Progress to spot work you’ve done but not yet billed, Revenue & Collections by Month, Client Revenue Ranking, Sub-consultant & Vendor Spend, Retainage Held, Reimbursable Expense Recovery, Payments Received and Payments Made registers, Stale Draft Invoices, and one-glance Receivables and Payables Aging Summaries. The Project Profitability report has also been upgraded to count sub-consultant and vendor bills as real cost and to show what you’ve actually invoiced and collected, not just the contract fee.
Project People Are Now Under a Single Team Tab
Section titled “Project People Are Now Under a Single Team Tab”A project’s Team Members, Consultants, Contractors, and Vendors are no longer separate tabs cluttering the bottom of the page. They now live together under one Team tab, each in its own collapsible section that starts closed — just expand the group you want to work with. The Contract Information tab now works the same way, with its Fee Structure, Additional Terms, and Professional Rates each in a collapsible section that starts closed.
Invoice and Bill Lists Now Total Up at the Bottom
Section titled “Invoice and Bill Lists Now Total Up at the Bottom”Every invoice and bill list now ends with a summary so you can read the numbers at a glance instead of scanning rows: the total invoiced or billed, how much has been paid, and the outstanding balance still owed (along with how many of those are unpaid).
Invoices and Bills Now Show Up Where You Need Them
Section titled “Invoices and Bills Now Show Up Where You Need Them”You no longer have to go to the Invoices or Bills area to see what relates to a particular record. A project now has an Invoices tab, and so does each client — showing everything billed to them. Vendors, consultants, and contractors each have a Bills tab listing what you’ve been billed by them. Each list also shows the total outstanding balance for that record at a glance, and links straight through to the full invoice or bill.
See a Project’s Profitability at a Glance
Section titled “See a Project’s Profitability at a Glance”Projects now have a Profitability tab that puts the money picture in one place: how much you’ve invoiced, your costs broken into bills and logged labor, and the resulting margin and margin percentage. It’s available to anyone who can already see a project’s financials.
New Accounts Receivable & Payable Aging Reports
Section titled “New Accounts Receivable & Payable Aging Reports”Two new reports under the Financials category help you stay on top of cash flow. Accounts Receivable Aging lists the customer invoices still owed to you, and Accounts Payable Aging lists the bills you still owe — each showing the outstanding balance, how many days past due it is, and an aging bucket (Current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90, or 90+).
See a Team Member’s Week at a Glance With Timesheets
Section titled “See a Team Member’s Week at a Glance With Timesheets”A team member’s page now has a Timesheet tab showing how their logged hours break down across a week. Pick any day to view that week, and you’ll see a grid with each project they worked on as a row and the days of the week as columns, with hours totaled per project, per day, and for the whole week. It’s a quick way to see what someone has been working on.
Activity Descriptions Are Now Optional
Section titled “Activity Descriptions Are Now Optional”When logging time on a task, the description is no longer required — you can record the time spent without writing a note if there’s nothing to add.
June 24, 2026
Section titled “June 24, 2026”Track What You Owe With Bills
Section titled “Track What You Owe With Bills”There’s a new Bills area under Finance for the money going out. Create a bill for a project, pick the payee — a consultant, vendor, or contractor — and add line items with an amount, per-line tax, and an optional cost code (phase). The bill totals everything for you, including any retainage you’re holding back. Approve a bill when it’s ready, then open it to record disbursements as you pay (check, card, wire, and more); the bill keeps a running tally of how much has been paid and what’s still outstanding, and automatically moves to Partial or Paid as you go.
Approve, Rescind, and Void Right From a Bill or Invoice
Section titled “Approve, Rescind, and Void Right From a Bill or Invoice”A bill’s or invoice’s status is now changed with clear action buttons at the top of the page instead of a dropdown while editing. A new bill starts as pending and can be approved when it’s ready; an invoice can be marked as sent. If you need to make a change after approving or sending, the new Rescind button pulls it back to its editable state. You can still void a bill or invoice that hasn’t been paid. The bill or invoice number now also appears in its details for quick reference.
June 22, 2026
Section titled “June 22, 2026”Bill Your Clients With Invoices
Section titled “Bill Your Clients With Invoices”There’s a new Invoices area under Finance. Create an invoice for a project, choose which client to bill, and add line items with quantities, rates, per-line tax, and an optional cost code (phase). The invoice adds everything up for you — subtotal, any retainage you’re holding back, tax, and the total — and you can save it as a draft, mark it sent, or void it. Open an invoice to record payments as they come in (check, card, wire, and more); the invoice keeps track of how much has been paid and what’s still outstanding, and automatically moves to Partial or Paid as you go.
June 20, 2026
Section titled “June 20, 2026”New Team Members Get a Welcome Email
Section titled “New Team Members Get a Welcome Email”When you add a new team member, they’ll now automatically receive a welcome email letting them know they’ve been added to your firm on AEC Pulse, with a link to sign in. Existing team members you edit won’t be emailed — only people added for the first time.
Organize Files Into Categories
Section titled “Organize Files Into Categories”Files on a project, task, or team member can now be sorted into categories. Edit a file to give it a category — like “Drawings”, “Contracts”, or “Photos” — and the file list groups everything under those headings, with anything uncategorized shown at the bottom.
A New Set of Contract Templates for Projects & Proposals
Section titled “A New Set of Contract Templates for Projects & Proposals”When you start a project or proposal from a template, you’ll now find a fresh set of professionally worded contract templates covering the most common agreement types — fixed-price and cost-plus owner–contractor agreements, design-build, contractor–subcontractor, owner–architect agreements (standard, complex, abbreviated, and short form), and architect–consultant. Each one fills in a ready-to-edit scope, phases, payment terms, and conditions, and the generated contract pulls amounts and dates from the fields you enter instead of leaving placeholder text to find and replace.
More Ready-Made Roles to Start From
Section titled “More Ready-Made Roles to Start From”When creating a role, you can now start from a wider set of ready-made role presets covering a typical firm — senior architect, architect and architectural staff at three experience levels, junior staff, director of design, and director of human resources. Pick one and it fills in the name, description, and a suggested set of permissions that you can fine-tune before saving.
June 19, 2026
Section titled “June 19, 2026”Create a Whole Group of Tasks From a Template
Section titled “Create a Whole Group of Tasks From a Template”From the Tasks page, the Create menu now has a “Create Multiple Tasks From a Template” option. Pick a ready-made template — like the starter set of tasks for an ADU’s first phase — and the multiple-task screen opens already filled in with all of those tasks. Adjust anything you like, choose the project and phase they belong to, and add them all at once.
June 18, 2026
Section titled “June 18, 2026”See a Project’s Status History
Section titled “See a Project’s Status History”Projects and proposals now have a History tab that shows their full status trail — starting from when they were created and including every status change after that, with what it changed from and to, who made the change, and when. It’s a read-only record, so you always have a clear picture of how a project progressed.
June 15, 2026
Section titled “June 15, 2026”A Clearer Way to Browse Libraries
Section titled “A Clearer Way to Browse Libraries”Libraries now open from a clean, searchable list instead of expanding inline. Pick a library to open its own page, where you can view its rows as a table or cards and page through large libraries quickly. The list itself can be sorted by name or last updated, so finding the right library is faster
June 9, 2026
Section titled “June 9, 2026”Reports
Section titled “Reports”A new Reports page in the Firm menu lets you pick a report and run it to see live results from your data.
