Consultants

Consultants is your directory of consulting firms that your firm engages on projects — for example, structural engineers, MEP consultants, civil engineers, or other specialist firms.

Each consultant record holds the company’s information and gives you a place to track:

  • Employees — individual contacts at the consulting firm
  • Projects — the projects they’re working on with your firm

Filtering the list by standing relationship

Section titled “Filtering the list by standing relationship”

The Consultants list has three buttons across the top: All, Active and Preferred. All is what you see when you open the page, so every consultant is there — including any marked Inactive, Do Not Work With or Archived, which you can tell apart by the Standing Relationship column. Use Active or Preferred to narrow it down. Your choice stays put as you page through and sort, and it’s part of the web address, so a link you bookmark or send to someone opens on the same view.

Beside the buttons, the search box finds a consultant by name, email, phone number, or city as you type, once you’ve entered at least two letters; click the × to clear it. Search works together with the status buttons, so a consultant has to match both to show up.

To attach a consultant to a project, open the project, go to its Team tab, and expand the Consultants section. From there you can add any consultant from your directory to that project.

See Manage the project team for step-by-step instructions.

You can add consultants one at a time or in bulk. See:
