Proposals
Proposals are where new work begins. You create a proposal to define the scope, fees, and terms for a potential engagement. Once a client approves it, you convert it into a project.
Proposal lifecycle
Section titled “Proposal lifecycle”A proposal moves through these statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being written; not yet sent to the client |
| Pending Approval | Submitted to the client; awaiting their decision |
| Approved | The client has accepted the proposal |
| Declined | The client has turned it down |
Transitions:
- From Draft → submit to the client → moves to Pending Approval
- From Pending Approval → rescind → moves back to Draft
- From Pending Approval → mark accepted → moves to Approved
- From Pending Approval → mark declined → moves to Declined
- From Approved → create a project → the proposal links to a new project draft
See Submit a proposal to a client for detailed steps.
