3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage accounts, and provide, host, secure and support the Services.
  • Process payments, invoices and taxes.
  • Send service messages, such as security alerts, receipts and notices of changes to these documents.
  • Prevent fraud and abuse, debug errors, and enforce our Terms.
  • Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them and build new features.
  • Send product news and marketing, which you can opt out of at any time.
  • Comply with law and defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Customer Data to advertise to anyone. We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not identify any person or Customer, and we will not try to re-identify them.

4. How we share information

  • Your organization and project members. Administrators of the Customer that invited you can see and manage your account and content. Content posted to a shared project is visible to everyone with access to that project, which may include other companies.
  • Service providers. Vendors that host, store, process payments, send email, provide support or analytics, and secure the Services. They may use information only to provide services to us, under written confidentiality terms.
  • Integrations you enable. Third-party tools you or your organization connect. That provider's terms and privacy policy govern its use.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of AEC Pulse, our users or others.
  • Business transfers. A merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.
  • With your consent.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to sign you in, keep sessions secure, remember settings, and measure how the Services are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but sign-in and some features will not work without the necessary ones.

We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because no common standard for them exists. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires.

6. Retention

We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes above, and then as long as the law, tax rules or a dispute requires. Account data is deleted or de-identified within 90 days after an account closes. Customer Data is available for export for 30 days after a subscription ends and is then deleted, except for backup copies that expire on a normal schedule.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee security. Use a strong, unique password and tell us right away at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Where we process information

We are based in California and process information in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

9. Your choices and rights

You can review and update your account information in your settings, and unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will verify your identity and respond within the time the law requires. If the request concerns Customer Data, we will refer you to the Customer that controls it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those terms, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. California residents may make the requests above and may appeal our decision by replying to our response.

10. Children

The Services are for business use and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided it, and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version at aecpulse.com and update the effective date. For material changes, we will also notify you by email or in the Services at least 30 days before they take effect.
